Reputed to be one of the oldest pubs on the Isle of Wight, The White Horse in the pretty village of Whitwell was first recorded as a public house way back in 1454! And it is still going strong today, thanks to a well-earned reputation for good food. The main menu and special board regularly highlights local produce and provides a good selection of choices for both pub favourite and more ‘world’ tastes. There are a range of gluten . free options and dishes suitable for vegetarians. There are plenty of real ales to change from with pumps that change regularly, local spirits and an extensive wine list.
Inside the White Horse Inn you will find a charming, traditional bar area as well as spacious dining area to enjoy your meal. The walls are decorated with images of Whitwell from days gone by, plus some vintage farming equipment that might have seen action around the village. The White Horse also boasts a large beer garden and children’s play area plus ample car parking. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome.
