The Taverners is a real country pub that is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. Well known for its food offering, the produce is bought daily depending on what is available at the markets, from the local farms and what has been caught, foraged, shot or hunted. All their meats come from Island farmers all the time, the fish comes from local waters and they use local vegetables when they are in season. The milk, cream and butter comes from Island dairy herds, they bake their own bread and pastries daily and local cheeses come from the award winning Richard Hodgson of the IW cheese company. All chips are hand cut and triple cooked. They believe all of this gives them some of the freshest and best quality ingredients on the Island.
Cosy up by the fire in the winter and sit in the garden when the sun shines. There is a small play-area for young visitors and dogs are very welcome.
