Hillside is a charming 18th century thatched country house overlooking the Victorian town of Ventnor and backing onto National Trust land at the foot of St. Boniface Down.

Panoramic sea views and a southerly aspect gives Hillside the benefits from all the available sunshine, making the house and its grounds as warm and welcoming in the summer, as it’s sheltered and cosy in the winter.

Hillside fuses contemporary Scandinavian interiors with charming rooms, creating great harmony within the environment and a unique homely feel.

– Flourishing vegetable garden and green house which provides the finest fresh produce and ingredients for the Restaurant Hillside and not least for a wide variety of homemade treats such as: daily bread, jam, marmalade, honey, spices, chutney, butter, yoghurt and even the famous house ale.

Hillside Restaurant offers French Cuisine dining with a Scandinavian twist, made of our own and local produce – freshly prepared and presented in menus which change frequently – giving a choice of 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 desserts and specials. Seating’s between 1900hrs and 2030hrs when possible to give a nice flow in the restaurant presently Monday to Saturday.
