Products at Delysia Farm are arguably as fresh as you can get with owner John Day catching, growing, smoking and preparing the vast majority of it himself. Tucked away in Brading (right next door to Oasis) Delysia Farm is a gift to the eyes as much as the belly! Beautifully constructed (by John of course, is there anything this man can’t do?) the wooden kiosk looks like its straight out of Lapland, although rather than tinsel and toys, it is bursting with colours, flavours and smells. On display you will find freshly laid duck, goose and chicken eggs including rare Araucana eggs, a hybrid of 2 South American breeds, resulting a beautiful blue hue to its shell; hand picked fruit and vegetables with the vast majority being grown at their farm or if not then from other local producers; seasonal meats and game; plus John’s own freshly caught crab and lobster, most likely caught that very morning from Bembridge Ledge. Crab can be bought in a pot or dressed or even in one of John’s own homemade crab cakes. Seafood platters can be ordered with 2 day’s notice and provide a great dinner party/beach BBQ dish. Wild boar and venison come from the Forest of Dean in Hampshire which John cuts himself. There is the added bonus of an onsite smoker where John smokes fresh salmon and trout in the summer or wild game such as pheasant and partridge in the winter.
